TOGETSUTEI is a traditional Japanese-style hotel near TOGETSU-bridge which is famous for it beauty in Arasiyama.

TOGETSUTEI was named after TOGETU-Bridge by the first owner.

Arashiyama is known for its scenery than change with season,cherry blossoms in spring, fresh green in summer, red leaves in autumn and snow-scape in winter.

All rooms have a private restroom and a private bath, but private bath is not hot spring without room of 【Type 2】.

Our public bath is Arasiyama hot spring.

Check-in time is from 16:00.
Check-out time is by 10:00.
※But we will keep your luggage before our check-in time and after check-out time.

Dinner is served between 17:30 to 20:00.
Breakfast is served between 7:30 to 8:30.

What is the Ryokan

Ryokan is a Japanese style hotel.
But there are some difference between Ryokan and a western-style hotel.

First of all, the selling points of hotel are rooms and hospitality. However, the best thing of Ryokan is Kaiseki dinner and grace hospitality.

That is why, Ryokan is basically one night’s stay with two meals (Kaiseki dinner and Japanese Breakfast) for two persons above.

Second of all, hotel has a bed and private bathroom in each room. But Ryokan has Futon (Japanese-style bedding) directly placed over the Tatami and private bathroom in guests room, moreover there is a public bath which is well known as hot spring.

At Ryokan, it is common for guests to take off their shoes at the entrance.

Ryokan is one of great places to know Japanese culture.So if you have a chance to visit Kyoto, Please try staying at Ryokan.
